A few years ago I wrote a post about worms and how whenever I see one struggling to get somewhere I like to help it along. Little did I realize that would come back to haunt me, and I’ve agreed to allow a member of the community to offer some further thoughts.
This made me laugh all the way through. Especially the part with Uncle Doug/Aunt Sandy, which happens to be my brother and his wife. I love me some worms.
Worms are such lovable creatures. I hope Doug and Sandy are just as lovable, and if they’re also hermaphrodites that’s cool.
I had a laugh too!
It’s always my goal to educate and entertain. Well, to entertain. It’s not my fault if anyone learns something from me.
This one had me busting a gut! You can stand on the dock holding this post up because it’s a prize winner!
Can you imagine what it would be like for an earthworm to bust a gut? Anyway I want you on the dock with me taking the picture.
My first dissection was in 9th grade – an earthworm. It is literally two small incisions, and nearly impossible to mess up. My partner, Melissa, and I cut the wrong end.
My science teacher, Mr. Moeller came over and said, “Uh… girls…”. He said that to us a lot that quarter.
Annelids. Fun stuff!
It sounds like you had a lot of fun in 9th grade biology. I can’t imagine there being such a thing as a “wrong end” on an earthworm. At least it sounds like Mr. Moeller was understanding.
Now I’m thinking about all you do for us, Chris.
Thank you for continuing to dig my posts.
