So my wife sent me out to pick up some wine while she went to a dog training class, and while I was in the store a young man came in and asked if they had any Moet & Chandon and I said, “Oh, yeah, she keeps it in a pretty little cabinet. Let them eat cake, she says, just like Marie Antoinette,” and everyone just stared at me and I invited everyone to come home with me just so I could yell at them to get off my lawn, but that’s another story. At least it all came together in this pop quiz: Dog breed or wine?

It would have been nice to have someone there to laugh with me. Also that happened before the release of the film “Bohemian Rhapsody” but I hope that now a few more people at least would get it.

Excellent–high marks for getting every one right except for Courgette, although I think you’re technically correct about that one–it does sound like a mixed breed but it’s really what crazy people call a zucchini.
This quiz is meant for me; I am having my rain man moment.
Jay recently posted…Summer ’03
I take it you got them all right then. Also since you mentioned Rain Man I have to share that I’ve eaten at Pompilio’s. They have a mural of Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman with the toothpicks.
I love both wine and dogs so this was perfect. But that last one—is it a dog, wine, or an eggplant?!
That last one was meant to throw people off. A “courgette” is what the British call a zucchini. I should probably go to the Oxford English Dictionary to look that up because now I wonder why they object to the name “zucchini”.
I did pretty well, considering I don’t drink wine and I’m a cat person. And I know what a courgette is, even though I’m a klutz in the kitchen. Speaking of that, Happy National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day, Chris!
I have to make a note of National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day and celebrate it next year–it sounds like it even deserves to be an international holiday, one that could also be celebrated by people who say “courgette” instead of “zucchini”.
Passed with flying colors. Go, me!!! May I recommend Vinho Verde? Pairs well with Dalmatians.
Thank you for the recommendation–I’ll have to find some Vinho Verde for someone I know who loves wine and Dalmatians and the color green.
I wouldn’t know a wine if it bit me, and unless the wine is a goldilino muscretriever I probably wouldn’t know the dog breed, either. But I will take this moment to appreciate your humor and the way that brain of yours works, Chris. Salud! ?
I’m not a wine drinker either and am only vaguely familiar with dog breeds, but maybe that’s why they came together in my brain. The less I know about something the more likely it is to remind me of something else.
Haha nice!
